Too much I think

–

I have a thing for roses
They make people smile
I like smiles

I would like to smile more

–

I dont like being weak
And swallowing all the bad stuff they say
I like to swallow what I like

And vomit what I dont like

–

I dont like laying low
But that is what the job demands
I like to be happy

It is tough to be happy while alone

–

I dont like fake people
I find it hard to spot who are fake
When I catch one, I usually throw by the ear

Who likes fake people, anyways?

–

I like to drink and write and converse and think and walk
In pretty places with pretty people
With a pretty sun and beach or mountain

–

But that’s just me

An omnipresent creature, please welcome the troll

Hungry for attention hungry for love

Like a dog wanting a pat on his head above

The troll can be a nuisance

and sometimes it can be fun

The troll exists everywhere

The troll is everyone

Who ever spent time

More with a computer than fellow human

Hoping to find anonymity comforting

While doggedly chasing someone

–

Troll on til you get it right

Click those buttons still inspite

The voice gnawing in your head

That says trolled enough- now off to bed

Of an unremarkable life

Tired of playing a lonely fiddle

Taken aback by the strife

–

I strive to bring some joy

To create something light

and not you to annoy

Make this poem happily right

–

Comedy is hard

Angst is easy

I am no bard

Pretending leaves me queasy

–

So how can I write

Something cheerful when I am sad

How long shall I fight

This addiction to be mad

–

I know just the trick

Pretty babies, fluffy cats and an odd cartoon

and anything slick

Create a happier tune

–

Than I had been singing for a while

So cheer up, my hearties

Time to polish that smile

Something I need you to know

Someplace I never want you to go

Someone I would rather not be

Sometimes that’s how I feel

–

Now and then we can look around

Try and find some common ground

But never could we ever go back

Sometimes love goes off track

–

It is lonely and growing cold

I hate the thought of being alone when old

But I have my own self  to be

Something I need to feel

–

Life is too short to tell

When over how I wish did that as well

So my dear I say to you

Sometimes it is best to let things through

–

So much I have to tell

So less time I have as well

So long it was never meant to be

So now I guess we shall see

I am trying hard not to suck

It seems I am out of practice

It seems I am out of luck

Poetry demands attention

Art demands respect

It seems I have been lacking

Attitude mildly incorrect

We all write stuff  for money

Poetry we write for free

And for the friends across the sea

Poetry an excuse to talk to me

There are mild advantages of being an occasional poet

The ladies all swoon when I mention it

I am a poet and quite single too

My poems are an amateurish hit

–

It depends how you deliver them

The words of  poem and prose

Look deep in my puppy brown eyes

Better than chocolates or rose

–

Enough jest  enough jokes and limericks

We have to get back to write

These daily struggles within my mind

We  now get upto fight

–

Still if we managed to

Entertain you if but for a while

We didnt do it for free we got our just rewards

We liked to see you smile.

No poetry (unless I get really inspired and my scrapbook fills up)

No random internet browsing (except search for research)

Hell no, Facebook

–

No TV

No Movies

No goofing off

No wasting time using creative juice stewing as an excuse

–

pub along the causeway

sets the table and plates

carefully for the next day

Been a long time tonite

All she wants is to go home

and see the people whom

She loves so much

She works hard away from home
